World Leather Debut 2014

May 16th-17th-18th, 2014

As most of you know, the World Leather Debut is the most important show world-wide für saddlemakers and leather artists to present their work and have it judged. The World Leather Debut is part of the annual Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show in Sheridan/Wyoming. With its workshops und events it turns that little western town into an Eldorado for saddlemakers and leathercrafters.

After having been a competitor of the World Leather Debut mysself for many years, winning first and second places, I was asked last year (2013) if I'd be willing to be a judge!

I think over the years I've been able to make my mark as a tooler and saddlemaker, yet I was surprised by this this request - and felt very honored. I didn't take long to think it over and promised to come, so 2013 was my first year to participate in the World Leather Debut as part of the jury. Together with Bob Klenda, an experienced saddlemaker from Colorado, I judged in the catogory saddles with geometric patterns.

Obviously I did a good job, because they asked me to judge again this year.
