Impressions from the World Leather Debut 2014

Like every year the number 1 Western Town in America turns into a mekka for all saddlemakers and leathecrafters from all around the world.

For the 21st time the Leather Crafters and Saddlers Journal invited to the Rocky Mountain Leather Show in Sheridan, Wyoming. Along with the show the 12th annual World Leather Debut was held in the Holiday Inn Hotel and for the second time I was honored to be invited to judge the category of the geometric stamped saddles.

Saddlemakers and leathercrafters from all over the world brought in their work (165 pieces this year) to show it to the public and to have it judged from some respected persons of the trade. Beside this there are ribbons and certificates awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd places and also over 10.000$ in prize money.

So, challenge yourself, enhance your leatherwork and make new friends at World Leather Debut!

This year I was honored to do my judging together with Keith Seidel, renowned & awarded Saddlemaker from Cody, Wyo. Keith is a premier saddlemaker and longtime friend, so it wasn't only nice to do the judging with him, I also learned a lot while dicussing the different focal points and details of the entry saddles.
